Dear All,

We have continued to watch the unfolding story of recovery from Irma this week.  The stories of suffering, as well as hope, give pause to our everyday lives.  Many are asking — What can I (we) do to help those in need?  How much does my little bit help someone else?

That is where HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS begins.  I am asking each church in our district to join in the relief efforts that are now underway by simply collecting everyday necessities that some are without.  Where our efforts and items will end up we do not know.  So beginning this Sunday I am asking you to begin asking your faith communities to share what they can.  Here is a list compiled by our Conference Disaster coordinators.

  • Unopened bottle water- in any size

  • Prepackaged unperishable food items

  • Unopened snacks that do not require refrigeration (single or multi pack)

  • Batteries

  • Bread- If being delivered immediately

  • Disposable Plates

  • Baby wipes
